the syntax of things

who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you

  1. ah, i love Cummings and that is a great little quote.

and i love this image too - b&w of one from Montreal - wow, three years ago now. yes, a complicated image - don't fret about the syntax of it, enjoy the image and/or the kiss!

well that's one way to connect the words and image :-) <3

    1. to be honest, it's only the poem i needed to post, i had it in my head for a while now. the image comes to say: look how bad i am, because all i have is the skeleton of an image, and that is not how i will access the whole thing.

the kiss... i think cummings meant it as a physical symbol of invading someone's soul or whole being. including the mouth, of course :D
at least it's my own interpretaion

    2. i think you're right about Cummings's intent  and it was a benevolent invasion i suspect he meant.
