looks kind of spooky , grain reminds of very old silent movies . lately you have shown many pictures where you show your eyes ... that´s unusual . i have thought of painting a selfie with eyes , but capturing just right expression , that´s difficult .
with painting it's different of course. but selfs are always a fascinating exercise i find. and not like some people might think by narcissism. it's a different process for the artist.
yes, spooky :) there's a big deformation of the face, shot through a crystal cut vase, the grain comes from the bad quality of the image (iPad camera, candle light) i was experimenting, a day when we didn't have electricity. showing my eyes lately.. well, it may be a coincidence. posting images does not come in the order of editing them, so one cannot try to guess the state of mind of the artist by his images i think..
one can quess what impression artist wants to make for audience for showing chosen work at the certain moment ; ) i have made dozens of selfs during years , and i totally agree . making them is interesting process , that put´s some psychic strain on the maker ( not always , but often it does ) . Making portraits of other people is in someways very similar process , at least with painting .
