Color makes this strange effect like two walls were in same two dimensional space , but wires , those tiny worms , they reveal their true location - i quess the mason didn't know he was making art , when he left those clawmarks on the wall ?
i think he was trying for something decorative at the very least ;)the focus difference also gives another clue :)
